ANZAC Day 2025 – Canberra March Participation

Today, cadets from 224 Army Cadet Unit and 241 Army Cadet Unit took part in the Canberra ANZAC Day March, joining thousands of Australians in remembering those who have served and sacrificed in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations.

Marching as separate companies, each unit proudly represented their formation as part of the Australian Army Cadets. Cadets demonstrated a high standard of ceremonial drill, discipline, and teamwork as they stepped off along Anzac Parade in front of veterans, families, and members of the public.

In addition to marching, cadets from both units supported the event as pallbearers, leading each of the attending veteran units and associations throughout the procession. This responsibility was a great honour and a moving symbol of respect, reflecting the connection between the current generation of cadets and those who have served before them.

Participation in ANZAC Day events supports key outcomes in the Cadet Development Continuum, particularly in areas such as community engagement, leadership, and military experience activities. It provides cadets with a chance to connect with the broader community and deepen their understanding of Australia’s military heritage.

The presence of 224 and 241 ACUs at this year’s march was a strong display of respect and service, and a credit to the cadets, their units, and the wider Australian Army Cadets program.

Lest We Forget.
