Becoming A Volunteer
Getting Started As A Volunteer Is Simple
Becoming a volunteer is a simple process: submitting your application, passing clearances and then starting to parade with our unit.
Apply Online
The application process is entirely online; just follow the instructions to submit your application. It’s that easy to get started.
Complete Clearances
Once you submit your application, it will be reviewed and subject to clearance checks, such as a National Police Check.
Start Parading
Once your clearances are returned in full and vetted, your application will be approved. Now you’re ready to start.

Defence Approved Helpers (DAH)
Flexible Commitment
Ideal for those who wish to contribute to the program without a long-term commitment or extensive training. As a DAH, you’ll assist in supporting various cadet activities, providing crucial help under the guidance of trained Army Cadet Staff. This role allows you to get involved and make a difference while offering flexibility to fit around your other commitments.
Army Cadet Staff (ACS)
Regular Commitment
For those interested in taking a more active role, the ACS pathway offers a structured and leadership-focused opportunity. This role requires formal training, equipping you with the skills to plan and conduct activities, manage groups of cadets, and ensure the safety and success of the program. As ACS, you’ll have the chance to make a lasting impact on youth development while enhancing your leadership and organisational abilities.

Who can volunteer with the Australian Army Cadets (AAC)?
