Army Cadets March with Pride on ANZAC Day 2024
Standing tall in Canberra, we felt a profound connection to the ANZAC tradition and the values that have shaped our nation.
On this ANZAC Day, cadets and staff from both 224 Army Cadet Unit and 241 Army Cadet Unit proudly marched in Canberra, standing tall under the watchful gaze of the Australian War Memorial. It was a moving experience for everyone involved, a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by those who came before us and a strong affirmation of our unwavering commitment to their memory.
As young cadets marching alongside veterans and serving members of the Australian Defence Force, we felt a deep connection to the ANZAC spirit. The courage, mateship, and enduring sacrifice embodied by those who served at Gallipoli and in all conflicts since resonate deeply within us. We understand the weight of our responsibility to honour their legacy today and every day.
Watching our cadets march with pride and respect was a moment of immense pride for the staff. Guiding these young people and witnessing their understanding of the significance of ANZAC Day is a powerful reminder of why we volunteer as Army Cadet Staff.
Across Australia today, communities big and small gathered at dawn services, marches, and moments of silence. The spirit of ANZAC Day binds us together as a nation. It’s a day to reflect on the cost of freedom, honour those who have served, and recommit ourselves to courage, mateship, and selfless service.
Lest We Forget.
