Junior Leaders Step Up: Cadets Strengthen Skills at Focused Training Day

Cadets from 224 and 241 Army Cadet Units recently joined forces for a dynamic Junior Leaders Training Day. The training program focused on developing essential leadership and fieldcraft knowledge in small groups, allowing for personalised attention and a strong team dynamic.

During the day, cadets participated in various engaging activities and workshops designed to enhance their leadership potential. Key areas of focus included:

• Navigation: Building confidence in map reading and practical navigation skills.
• NCO Roles & Responsibilities: Understanding the expectations of non-commissioned officers and effective leadership techniques.
• Lesson Planning & Engagement: Designing and delivering impactful lessons to engage fellow cadets.
• Ratel Revision & Activity: Refreshing knowledge of radio procedures and communication techniques with a hands-on exercise.
• Words of Command: Practicing clear and concise commands for leading drill activities.
• Setting Up a Command Post: Establishing a field-based command centre during field-based activities.

The Junior Leaders Training Day provided a valuable opportunity for cadets to hone individual skills while fostering collaboration and a strong leadership mindset. 224 and 241 ACUs are proud of these dedicated cadets as they continue to develop the skills to be the Army Cadet leaders of tomorrow!
